Digital Maze Activities

I was wanting to create a digital maze practice for our students that was similar to our mclass testing. I was researching some different options and came across this template. I thought it was great! I quickly created one for 3rd grade reading and math, but you could easily use the maze template with any grade level and content area or even just vocabulary.

This activity would be great for blended learning in a digital studio or future ready as the students could create their own maze for another classmate. This would show great understanding of the concept and transfer of knowledge.

I highlighted the correct answers in the second slide, so when students are done they can remove the box and self check their answers. 

You could share this in Schoology as a Google Slide or Kami assignement. Kami makes it super easy for students to highlight the correct answer.

Digital Stickers

 I saw some cute digital stickers floating around on the internet, and I love the idea of putting them on student work that is submitted digitally. But, I wanted my Bitmoji on them so I decided to make some of my own!

I created my stickers in Google Drawing first. Then, I saved each one as a .PNG file on my computer. 

 Last, I uploaded the pictures into my Google Drive.

The possibilites are endless. I created some reading and writing award ones, along with some encouragement ones.

Lead4ward Digital Activities

The Lead4ward website has many amazing resources available to educators. If you have never checked out their website you need to, like right NOW!!

My favorite resource on the website is the Instructional Strategies Playlist. I suggest bookmarking this page!! I use it all the time. These activities promote student engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking. I use many of these activities on a weekly basis. 

I am going to share some of their strategies that you can adapt for any content and how you can use it digitally with your students. Any of these activities could be uploaded into Google Classroom, Schoology, or Learning Management Platform. 

1. Mystery Bag

You can use the mystery bag with any content as a preview for your lesson, read aloud, exit ticket to encourage student discussion, add ideas, clarify confusing parts, and make connections. Instead of using a real paper bag and students touching items, you can reveal one image at a time using this Google Slide.

You could use this activity in whole group, small group, and even partners.

2. Stop, Plop, Roll

Stop, Plop, Roll is one of my students' favorites and is a great activity to engage students in a practice/reflection activity. I have included math, reading, get to know you examples, and a blank template as well. I also linked some digital dice for you. 

You could use this in a Future Ready station, partners, small group, or even individually.

3. Fact or Fib Showdown

 Facto or Fib Showdown can also be used with any content and are great for critical thinking and require students to justify their thinking. I made this a drag and drop activities. Students will read the two statements you create on the topic (or they could create two statements for a partner) then decide which one is the fact and which one is the fib. There is also a place for students to write their justification down. This could be done as a whole group, in a future ready station, or individually as well.

Digital Notebooks

I have had requests to share my digital notebooks. First, I want to say I got the original template from SlidesMania and it can be found here. Also, check out all their amazing resources!

I plan to utilize my digital notebooks regardless if I'm teaching Face to Face or remotely. These notebooks are a way for me to share resources with students and parents. They will be able to access these at school and at home. I do plan on students using digital notebooks as well. This way if students attend some days face to face and then are remote, they will have their notebooks and be able to continue their work. Their notebooks will look similar to mine with the tabs but students will add their own content to theirs. I love that they can still decorate and make the notebooks represent them!
